Martin Pinson is a qualified environmental engineer, architect and sustainability consultant.
In this talk, he provides a thorough overview of the various Green Building rating tools current in Australia. Included in the review is Green Star, NABERS, WELL, Enviro Development, Living Building Challenge, NatHERS and Passive House. He also discusses the specific state based tools of BASIX (NSW) and BES (Vic).

It’s a great opportunity to get an update on some of these tools you will already be familiar with, as well as those that are new, and assess how they might be used in your context.

                Martin (B. Env. Eng. Hons 1, B. Arch. Hons 1) is a qualified environmental engineer, architect and sustainability consultant, with 15 years of post-graduate experience. 

                He has worked with the Integreco team as a:
                Senior Sustainability Consultant;
                LCA and Carbon Assessor of materials and buildings;
                Energy and Water Consultant and Certifier;
                Green Star® Building Sustainability Assessor;
                National Construction Code of Australia (NCC) Energy Performance (Section J) Assessor, and; 
                Thermal Comfort energy modeller (AccuRate and BERS Pro).  

                Martin has worked on numerous Sustainability Consulting projects undertaking energy assessments, water assessments, carbon analysis, materials selection and sustainable design consulting for a variety of retail, commercial and residential development projects. 

                Martin also led the Integreco assessment team that undertook the BASIX Sustainability Rating Scheme Multi-unit testing for the NSW State Government Department of Infrastructure and Natural Resources, in benchmarking the operational carbon intensity for the Regulation Impact Statement.

                He has also undertaken eco-materials research for numerous projects including: the AMP Global Headquarters Refurbishment; the Australian Commonwealth Department of Public Prosecutions Refurbishment (using a derivative of the LEED-CI assessment system); and Brisbane City Council’s Fitout. 

                He has also undertaken much research, product assessment and consulting for Ecospecifier.
