Organisations today face critical issues which put their success, even their survival at stake. They depend more than ever on the quality of their people. The business environment is changing so fast that the workers of today are having difficulty in keeping up  - they need to be learning constantly to operate smartly. Mentoring is an extremely effective way of achieving learning in the workplace. It matches a mentor with a mentoree to work on the development of professional skills. It is one –to-one, so learning is appropriate to each individuals needs. It is work based, so learning is relevant to each person’s situation and it gives the mentoree ongoing support and feedback, both key ingredients of effective learning.
