Julian Lipscombe joined Bennetts Associates in 1992 and became a director in 2002. In this talk, Julian provides intriguing insight into the methodology and approach of Bennetts Associates architectural practice in London.  Using the significant renewal development of Kings Cross in London, he illustrates the themes and values used within the practice to approach design on every scale within planning and architecture.

     Julian has recognised skills in design, consultation, project leadership and public speaking. During his 20+ years with the practice, he has led a broad range of projects and competitions in the office, education, transport, residential and sport sectors.

    He has a particular expertise in public sector estate rationalisation with projects such as the award-winning HQ for Hampshire County Council. Current commitments include a 20 acre masterplan in central Manchester, a new training college for the Metropolitan Police, 14 surface stations for Crossrail and prominent new buildings for St Antony's College, Oxford. This current project, developing the new Kings Cross site is a significant milestone in his career.
