In this talk, recorded as a part of their national tour, Jocelyn Holley from NATSPEC addresses the importance and role of good specification writing for architects, engineers, building designers, landscape architects and interior designers. Jocelyn Holley discusses specification writing in Australia and the use of NATSPEC in the preparation of construction specifications, providing many examples from her own experience. She also discusses the options of specifying by performance, prescription or proprietary methods. She talks briefly about how to develop and use office edited work sections from Specbuilder Live, NATSPEC’s online specification compilation software, and how this integrates with Microsoft Word.
